In Memory of David Bowie, Poster 1
After the passing of this music legend, I was tasked with creating two posters that commemorate his life. Poster 1 is a charcoal self-portrait I drew of him which then was formatted into an 11x17 poster. Charcoal is a medium that I am comfortable with and felt that by using it, I could capture his essence in a realistic manner.
In Memory of David Bowie, Poster 2
Poster 2 took a different approach. The design is inspired from the main visual features of David Bowie that defined his image— the eyes, lips, lightning bolt, makeup, and vibrant color. The viewer is able to imagine a complete portrait of Bowie when these geometric visual elements are pieced together according to his facial structure.
